Allergico Reviews: Purely Plantain Chips

Writer: Sophie WallaceSophie Wallace

Allergicos! This week I'm reviewing a delicious snack that's been a firm favourite of our Editor's since she came across them at a food festival a few years ago.

Outside of Caribbean cooking, plantain is very rarely used in this country, let alone in snacks so this is an unusual but delicious treat.

The chips themselves are very light and due to their high fibre and potassium contents, healthier than many crisps. Additionally, they're flavoured with wild garlic which has a much gentler flavour than its supermarket cousin. If you're looking for something a bit different and a bit healthier, I highly recommend giving these a try.

They are available at TheVeganKind supermarket at £1.99 a bag.
