Ah London, our majestic capital where house prices, skyscrapers and food prices soar above our heads.
So I'm doing the student trudge around the food places, wincing at prices, debating if Camden is a better choice for food, the usual. But then my eye is caught by this place just near Belsize Park tube station. On looking at the menu I see a very rare sight, pizza for under £10 in London? If that wasn't enough my mind was made up when I saw the huge range of unusual toppings.

When it came to my choice of pizza, those of you who know me well know I enjoy odd food combinations so naturally I went for one that was a little unusual. The Pizza Eoliana is their current special with your traditional tomatoes, olives, capers and mozzarella, but unusually it also included mint and potatoes. Yes you heard that right, potatoes on a pizza. Now before the double-carb brigade catches up with me I will say it was a surprise to me too as I had hunger-read the menu so not spotted that.
So what did this unusual concoction taste like? The answer: amazing. I can honestly say that was the best pizza ever, from the perfect dough to the soft tomatoes to the wonderfully tasty Nocellara olives (a particular favourite of mine). Mozzarella-wise it lived up to the extremely stretchy and flavoursome expectation and the mint and potatoes, despite being unusual, blended in perfectly. I am a committed carnivore, especially with pizza, but when I started eating this I totally forgot I even needed meat on a pizza, it was that good!
In terms of allergy-friendly food, they offered gluten-free options and I myself didn't have to do any egg checking as the menu was so well laid out I had all the information I needed. Unfortunately when it came to the fateful dessert menu there weren't any options I could eat but Italian desserts are famously egg-heavy so I kinda expected that. The staff however, were lovely, finding me a table at a very crowded time and even letting me try some Limoncello which was very tasty.
Would I go back? Definitely. Would I take friends there? Absolutely. Is it cheap for London? Yep. Should you pay them a visit? Yes. Do potatoes work better than pineapple on pizza? No contest!
